Stewarts Group has announced the appointment of Bill Tanser as the new General Manager of Leicester-based Woods Coaches
Stewarts Group has announced the appointment of Bill Tanser as the new General Manager of Leicester-based Woods Coaches.
Bill is no stranger to Woods, having originally joined the business as a coach driver at the age of 21. He worked his way up through the organisation over the years, most recently holding the position of Transport Manager for more than ten years. Bill is very well known and respected within the coach industry and his skills were recognised in the Operator Excellence Awards of 2007, when he picked up the "Coach Manager of the Year" award.
Bill replaces Woods Coaches' former Managing Director and previous owner Kevin Brown who remained in post following Stewarts Group's acquisition of the business in April 2014. Having helped to oversee the important transition period following the acquisition, Kevin has now left the business to pursue other opportunities.

"Having worked his way up through the business, he has an unrivalled understanding of coach operation and is committed to passenger safety, driver welfare and delivering exceptional standards of service."

"We have really benefited from Stewarts Group's involvement over the last few months. As well as improving our practices and procedures, Stewarts has already invested £1.5 million in new vehicles."
The fleet upgrade programme is part of Stewarts Group's commitment to continuously improving safety and quality of service.
