24/06/2025 - Harry Bessant and Bakers Dolphin Win at Weston College Business Awards

Coach tour operators Bakers Dolphin and student Harry Bessant have won the Into Work Partnership Award from Weston College.

Harry has had his first taste of working life driving minibuses for Weston-super-Mare based Bakers Dolphin as part of a partnership with the college.

His tasks included home pick-ups to take holidaymakers to their tour coaches and some school transport.

The awards were presented at Weston-super-Mare's Winter Gardens with 10 winners in different categories including apprenticeship, adult training and industry placements announced on the evening. Both the learner and the employer were recognised with the same award.

Bakers Dolphin Managing Director Max Fletcher said: “Harry has fitted in well with the team and has been enthusiastic about the work we do. It is good to see young people coming into our industry and being able to pass on knowledge to Harry has been a pleasure for our team.”

Principal and CEO of Weston College, Pat Jones said: “The Weston College Business Awards was a truly memorable evening – a celebration of the talent, dedication, and ambition that make our community so special.

“It was an honour to recognise the hard work of our incredible learners, whose determination continues to inspire us. We were also delighted to share the evening with our valued employer partners whose ongoing support and collaboration play such a vital role in our learners' success. We are also proud of Harry, who has shown fantastic dedication and made significant contributions to Bakers Dolphin.  Congratulations to both Harry and Bakers Dolphin - your achievements are nothing short of inspiring.”
