Finalist in the Coach Tour Operator Brochure of the Year category
Local family-run coach tour company Skills Holidays is flying the flag for the East Midlands in the prestigious National Coach Tourism Awards.
Skills is one of eight finalists in the Coach Tour Operator Brochure of the Year category. Skills Holidays, which operates breaks and holidays by coach from Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire will be flying the flag for the region this year as it hopes to be the winning team this years awards.
The annual National Coach Tourism Awards recognise excellence and innovation across coach tour operators, destinations, attractions, and tourism industry suppliers.
"We're proud to be one of only two East Midlands coach operators overall that have been shortlisted in these awards," said Skills Holidays Chairman Nigel Skill.
"Being a finalist is such a great recognition of all the work we've put in over the last couple of years on our brochure, and developing new and popular trips for passengers as well as creating an interesting brochure that engages customers."
The company, founded in 1919, pulled all its holidays together into one ‘super brochure' last year, featuring a variety of holidays including city breaks and scenic trips, shopping and theatre trips, and luxury tours to essential holidays. Some of the more interesting tours include a Doctor Who weekend in Cardiff and relaxing 4 star Spa Breaks.
Administrator of the Guild of British Coach Operators Richard Delahoy said: "We'd like to wish Skills Holidays the very best of luck with the awards. We represent the UK's premier coach operators, and it's great to see the quality of their newly-formatted, customer-friendly brochure being recognised in this way. Best wishes go to all our shortlisted members who are driving up the standards for coach holidays."
Nigel added: "Our new brochure has helped us further increase our passenger numbers by 17% so far this year, and our sales continue to go from strength to strength. I'd like to congratulate the Holidays Division team for all their hard work, and wish them luck for the awards night."
The awards will be presented on 15 May at the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool.
