09/12/2015 - Selwyns Coach Hire Deploys the Lytx DriveCam

Programme to Improve Driver Behaviour, Protect Passengers, and Reduce Accidents

Lytx®, Inc., the global leader in video-based driver safety, has announced that Selwyns Coach Hire has deployed the Lytx DriveCamTM Programme throughout its fleet of 100 coaches in a multi-year agreement.

The leading coach operator, which is part of the Selwyns Travel Services group, implemented the Lytx programme to protect passengers and reduce accidents and vehicle repair costs, whilst upskilling its drivers and maintaining a good reputation within the marketplace. During its trial of the DriveCam Programme, Selwyns saw significant improvements in its drivers' behaviours throughout its fleet-including a 53% reduction in overall risk, and a 67% reduction in risky events such as near-collision, not looking far enough ahead, and following too close.

"We view the Lytx DriveCam Programme as both an indispensable tool for driver and passenger safety, and as a way to gain a competitive edge in our industry," said Selwyn Jones, Managing Director for Selwyns Coach Hire. "In fact, we had a recent contract win in which the client's decision was heavily influenced by our deployment of the DriveCam Programme throughout our fleet. They simply feel that passengers are safer because of it."

"Selwyns' long-standing commitment to passenger safety and its reputation for delivering excellent, reliable service align perfectly with Lytx's values and the mission of the DriveCam Programme," said Damian Penney, Lytx Europe Ltd.'s VP & General Manager. "Their early outstanding results demonstrate their staff's high engagement with the programme and dedication to continuous improvement for their customers' sake."

The Lytx DriveCam Programme is the market-leading driver safety solution that comprises video-based predictive analytics, coaching, fleet tracking, remote panic button, and more. It identifies the causes of accidents using a patented video event recorder to capture and help correct risky driving habits. The programme delivers critical online tools and techniques to help companies coach drivers and improve safety, performance, and fuel management. Organisations achieve positive bottom-line results by developing safer, more efficient drivers who are protected from wrongful blame.
