12/07/2012 - Pompey fans get right result for away game travel

Pompey football fans will be taken thousands of miles in luxury next season after the club struck a new deal with Lucketts Travel for away match travel.

The award winning family firm took over the contract half way through last season, and has impressed fans with its high quality service.

Bakers Coaches backs School Transport Safety Week

The South-Coast company has once again been chosen to transport thousands of loyal supporters for all of Portsmouth´s away games during the 2012/2013 season. If a fan went to each game they´d cover 8000 miles watching the team. Most know it makes sense to travel by coach, with hassle free journeys straight to the stadium.

Costs to get to the games will be almost exactly the same as last year, and compared to car or rail a Lucketts Travel passenger is always the winner. A return coach trip to Yorkshire last season cost £28 and won´t be anymore for this season. With running costs for cars so high, and with many train tickets going up above the rate of inflation, Lucketts Travel tailored service is the obvious choice for Pompey fans.

Paul Barringer, Sales and Marketing Director of Lucketts Travel said, "we´ve certainly taken the stress out of travel for Pompey fans. We were delighted to step in last season when the previous coach company ran into operational difficulties. Our fleet of modern environmentally friendly coaches help us to keep costs down, allowing ticket prices to be kept under control. That means this season fans won´t pay a high price for their dedication to the club. Supporters will get the same high quality service, travelling on luxury coaches."

Lucketts Travel is a South-Coast success story, operating a fleet of 80 luxury coaches from its Fareham base. The company is family run, with a proud 86-year history of personal service and excellent value travel. The firm has recently been awarded the highest rating by CoachMarque and the Guild of British Coach Operators and has won a national Coach Tourism Award for its Day Excursion Programme.
