04/10/2013 - More new coaches for Maynes
Fleet expansion and upgrade at coach and bus live
Maynes Coaches attended the recent Expo, which allowed our Company to meet some of the leading manufacturers and suppliers to the Coach Industry, and we are pleased to announce we made a firm order for six new coaches for the 2014 Season. Attended by Industry professionals from all corners of the globe, the event gave us the opportunity to experience products and services from Industry suppliers easily under one roof and assess what is right for the Maynes Coaches' team and our customers.
Our total investment of around £850,000 at the show in various sized vehicles shows our continued commitment to our customers that "Travelling The Mayne Way " is to travel in a first class vehicle, specifically selected for its comfort, reliability and safety.
Adding to our fleet we have ordered a luxury 9 seat Mercedes mini coach. This is the first vehicle our company have purchased from EVM. The new Mercedes has been finished to a bespoke standard with two tone leather airline seats, glass roof and an on-board entertainment system, this was specifically chosen to assist us in our corporate clients' travel needs.
We have also ordered another 2 Mercedes Plaxton Cheetahs to join our fleet. Currently the fleet now have 4 of this very popular type of coach. Both coaches will be built to our exact standards, one coach with 25 leather seats and tables the other 29 seats, both with 3 point belts, A/C and in-coach entertainment. The coaches will mixed in with our own private hire work as well as undertaking transfers for our corporate clients.
Moving to the large coaches we have ordered 2 new coaches from King Long UK, a XMQ 6900 with 31 luxury reclining leather seats , W/C , hot drinks, fridge, courier seat, A/C, Webasto heating, radio/cd/dvd / pa + 2 monitors, Centre continental door. We also ordered a XMQ 6120C with 68+1 Moquette seats, Centre double doors DDA ready, 3 Point seat belts tinted glass and and in-coach entertainment system. This is the first time we have ordered from King Long UK. The coaches will be shipped to us from King Long United Automotive Industry Co Ltd. King Long is one of China's largest coach and bus manufacturers, producing buses and coaches which range from 4.8metres up to 18metres. With a staff of over 4,000, it is King Long's goal to ensure all its vehicles are manufactured to a high standard, with the very latest technology applied to each and every vehicle. King Long have an annual production capacity of over 77,000 units, which means a new King Long rolls off the production line every 7 minutes!
Finally we added another Vanhool Daf TX15 coach to the £770,000 order for 3 Vanhools we had already made earlier this year. These 4 new coaches will be built by Vanhool to our exact executive specification complete with 49 seats, full air-con, w.c, hot and cold drinks and an on-board entertainment system. The new Vanhools will blend into our touring and private hire fleet undertaking a mixed workload throughout the UK and Europe .
All 9 of our new coaches are due for delivery during Spring 2014. Our coach operating business was established by James Mayne in 1947 we have expanded greatly over the years and now operate from depots in Buckie, Elgin and Orkney.
