06/11/2014 - Maynes Team bring home top award at a major industry ceremony

Coach Operator of the Year for the FOURTH time!

Maynes Coaches are delighted last night to have become UK Coach Operator of the year ( medium Fleet ) 2014 at the recent RouteOne Awards.

Director Kevin Mayne accepted the award on behalf of the Maynes team, Kevin Mayne said "We have won many awards over the years, but to be named as UK Coach Operator of the Year for the fourth time, is truly a great honour and one which the whole Mayne team can take great pride in" Kevin continued, "We are immensely proud of everyone at Maynes who have all worked hard to deliver consistently high standards since my Great Grandfather Jimmy Mayne started Maynes back in 1947"

More than 780 guests from the coach and bus industry, were present at The Hilton Birmingham Metropole. Individuals, companies and organisations were honoured for excellence in customer service, standards and innovation. BBC business Steph McGovern hosted the evening along with comedian Tim Vine and sponsors handed out the awards to all the winners, with a spotlight on quality and success in the industry.

Excellence is the by-word and the aim as always is to identify and reward the best operators and people in the coach, bus and minibus sectors. Among the 16 categories there are 11 for operators and five for people. The road to success starts with nominations invited from manufacturers, dealers and suppliers during March and April. It's only through nomination that an operator stands any chance of being a finalist. However, nominations for the ‘people' categories - i.e. Coach Manager, Bus Manager, Coach Engineer, Bus Engineer and Special Award are made from within the industry itself.

We also had another reason to be proud at the event with Kevin Mayne also in the running and a worthy finalist for coach manager of the year category too. Kevin had to attend a tough interview earlier this year down in Leamington Spa with the awards judging panel, with further company info also sent to assist both Kevin and the company in the judging process. Kevin said " I was very proud to be a finalist, we are a close family business fae the north of Scotland. The Mayne ethic has always been to get it done together as a team and I am very proud of the team we have"

This is another coach industry awards ceremony our company have been involved in recently. Maynes were awarded Coach Operator of the year 2013 (large Fleet) at last year's UK Coach Awards and have been finalist and commended in many since.

Maynes Coaches are one of the few UK Coach Operators to pass all the current independently audited processes. Currently Maynes are the only Scottish member of the Guild Of British Coach Operators and one of three Coachmarque members north of the border, makes Maynes Coaches the logical company to trust when choosing your preferred coach hire partner.
