13/12/2013 - Maynes Movember Team Grow the Extra Mile
The Men at Maynes Coaches are all clean shaven after taking part in the Movember campaign and raising a staggering sum of money.
The group of 16 men grew moustaches throughout November and raised over an impressive £8800 in support of the campaign which helps to raise cash for Prostate and Testicular Cancer as well as raise the profile of Men's Health.
As well as our team of Men taking part we also had our Coaches sporting moustaches to become our Mocoaches that travelled all over the UK. We ran a competition for the best SPOT of the special coach on its travels with the best picture awarded a Corgi Maynes Coach. Another competition ran was guess the date of the snowman soft toy for a chance to win him. The Snowman had been on his travels throughout Scotland on day trips and the occasional tour. A Facebook auction was also held and two of our limited edition Corgi Models went up for grabs with the Bova going for £120 and the Vanhool for £260.
Our whole team did their bit for Men's health from all our drivers to our engineers and directors even our Mo Sistas in the office got involved to help the Mo Team on their way and everyone at Maynes are delighted at how much has been raised, it has surpassed all our expectations.
Our Mo Bros and everyone at Maynes would like to say a big thank you to everyone that has donated and supported us during Movember. Thanks to our Friends, Family, all the Suppliers and fellow Coach Operators for the generosity shown to the Team.
Our Movember team finished at at number 38 in the UK team rankings leaderboard with hundreds of teams from all the UKs major Company's, Shops and Banks. This is an incredible achievement being our first time with a team in Movember and for Maynes coaches being a small family coach operator from the north of Scotland makes it even more amazing.
In addition to the focus on Cancer, Movember seeks to raise more general issues relating to Men's health, both Physical and Mental. It also encourages Men to be more Aware of the symptoms' of various conditions and to take action.
