Maynes Coaches were chosen to be the coach hire provider during the 2012 Curtis Cup held at The Nairn Golf Club. Maynes provided two V.I.P Class Neoplan Tourliners to undertake tours and trips to other world famous golf clubs in the region.

Passengers from both sides of the Atlantic enjoyed tours to Loch Ness, local distilleries and retail outlets as well as Golf Outings to Castle Stuart, Moray (Lossiemouth) and the Royal Dornoch Course. Our Coaches were also chosen to assist in the opening ceremony and other Dinner Functions during the event.

Maynes a team player during the Curtis Cup

The Curtis Cup is the best known team trophy for women amateur golfers. It is co-organised by the United States Golf Association and the Ladies Golf Union and is contested by teams representing the United States and "Great Britain and Ireland". Many women who have gone on to become stars of women´s professional golf have also played in the Curtis Cup.

Teaming up with Maynes Coaches was an easy choice, after the organisers of the event were impressed by the professionalism that Maynes provided during the prestigious Walker Cup held at Nairn during 1999. The Walker Cup is a golf trophy contested between teams comprising of the leading amateur male golfers of the United States and Great Britain and Ireland.

The Curtis Cup was finally won by the Great Britain and Ireland team, they ended a 16-year wait for Curtis Cup glory by beating the United States. This now means Europe or Great Britain and Ireland hold all the major trophies they compete for against the USA. The Curtis Cup joins the Ryder, Solheim and Walker Cups on this side of the Atlantic for the first time in golf history. Maynes were proud to assist the organisers throughout the event, also in allowing the North of Scotland and its Golf Courses to continue to be at the forefront of the world’s golfing stage.
