24/04/2014 - Lucketts Travel Group confirmed as a star performer for school safety

6-star rating from BUSK

Schools and parents in Southern England looking for the safest way of transporting children on school journeys now have an easy choice, as Lucketts Travel Group once again achieves a "top grade" for safe school coach travel.

As the only provider in the local area to sign up for the Simply Safe scheme, Lucketts Travel Group has just received a Six Star Benchmark rating from BUSK (Belt Up School Kids) a national organisation that promotes safe child road transport.

Lucketts, a family firm based in Fareham, joined the Simply Safe scheme in 2012 and underwent a series of thorough background checks covering all aspects of safety and legal compliance. As part of its membership Lucketts Travel Group is independently audited every two years, making sure that the award winning coach travel firm is continuing to operate the highest possible standards.

BUSK offers free guidance to parents and schools about the safest way of getting children to and from class and away on educational visits. All aspects of the operation need to be assessed, with the organisation able to recommend its members as providers of "best practice".

Paul Barringer, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Lucketts Travel Group, said, "We're proud to be members of BUSK's Simply Safe scheme and of our recent Benchmark six star rating.  As one of the largest suppliers of school travel in Southern England we believe our approach gives reassurance to schools and parents, and sets us apart from other coach travel providers who haven't signed up to BUSK's exacting standards."

The Six Star Benchmark rating is the highest safety grade a coach operator can achieve. Travel companies awarded it have committed to introduce additional safety requirements above those legally required. Lucketts Travel Group prides itself on the safety record of its drivers and modern fleet of luxury coaches. A unique driver training facility at its Fareham HQ reinforces the latest safe driving techniques, with dedicated workshop facilities allowing for constant checks of all vehicles in the fleet.
