20/05/2014 - Johnsons Win at National Coach Tourism Awards

Coach Tour Operator of the Year

Johnsons Coach Travel of Henley-in-Arden has beaten off competition from coach tour operators from across the UK to win two major tourism awards at the National Coach Tourism Awards 2014.

The awards, held on Thursday 15th May 2014 in Blackpool's Tower Ballroom, and organized by trade magazine Coach Monthly, recognises excellence and innovation across coach tour operators, tourist destinations and attractions, and industry suppliers.

Johnsons won the awards for Coach Tour Operator of the Year (large fleets), and Coach Tour Driver of the Year for their driver Andy Daw.

In giving Johnsons the Operator of the Year award, the judges said "Maintaining a consistent high quality of delivery when you have a large fleet requires a clear leadership and a determination to be the best at what you do. We note that Johnsons Coach Travel has both these attributes, making it a worthy winner of this award for the second year in a row".

John Johnson, Commercial Director of Johnsons Coach Travel, collected the award with his team in front of more than 400 tourism industry professionals.

Commenting on the company's success, he says: "We were thrilled to win this top award for the second year in a row. 2013 was another fantastic year for Johnsons as we invested in new vehicles, undertook some very large private hire contracts and started new driver training schemes. I am also thrilled for our driver Andy Daw to win the Driver of the Year award which he thoroughly deserves. He has proved himself time and time on all types of work, to be 100% capable, friendly and helpful member of the driver's team".

"The National Coach Tourism Awards is the only national awards scheme to focus specifically on the coach tourism community," says Stuart Render. "Johnsons Coach Travel was up against the best of the best coach tour operators in the country so this is therefore a well-deserved and a significant achievement. Our winners are at the forefront in delivering excellence across all sectors of the industry, helping to raise the quality of customer service and quality across coach operators, destinations, visitor attractions and tourism industry suppliers.
