20/03/2014 - It's no mystery why Gosport couple love Lucketts Travel

Couple travel on 50 mystery tours

Allan and Eileen Cruickshank love the uncertain nature of a Lucketts Travel mystery coach trip so much that by the end of June they will have been on 50 tours. The idea is simple and seemingly addictive. Passengers jump onboard the coach, but have no idea what the final destination will be until they arrive.

The Cruickshank's went on their first Lucketts Mystery Tour back in 2005, a holiday that took them to explore Grantham in Lincolnshire. Forty-seven trips later the couple, who are both 69, try to make sure they're on every trip available and have already booked another two tours for this spring. To celebrate being the first couple to reach this mystical milestone, Lucketts has told them that their 50th Tour will be a present from the Fareham based family firm, with free champagne from hotel booking company Veenus.

Lucketts PR 3 Mr Cruickshank said, "We were surprised when Lucketts told us that our 50th Mystery Tour would be a gift from them, a very generous gesture. Of course we have no idea of where we will be going, although I know there's nothing uncertain about the service we will be getting. We are always looked after so well, it's one reason we keep coming back for more."

The Cruickshanks benefit from Lucketts door-to-door service, and say they really enjoy the friendly atmosphere onboard the luxury coaches.  So far their favourite mystery tours have been to Market Bosworth and Dover, the couple particularly look forward to the second day of the trip when the driver gets to choose exactly where they go. It means that even if they've stayed in the same hotel before there's always somewhere different to see.

Paul Barringer, Group Sales and Marketing Director at Lucketts Travel says, "since they started in 2002 our Mystery Tours have developed quite a following. We often see the same faces again and again, but none more so than Allan and Eileen. When the bookings team realised that the Cruickshank's were close to taking 50 trips we knew we had to celebrate. I'm sure they'll enjoy their gift, even though they have no idea where they are going!"

Lucketts Travel Mystery Tours take passengers all over the country and include top quality accommodation. The next few tours are scheduled for 25th April, 27th June, 25th July and 29th August, with the 2 night break costing just £199 per person.
