16/10/2018 - Investment secures biggest bus in the region

Worthing Coaches 102-seater bus for new contract to transport pupils to Steyning Grammar School

Worthing Coaches has made a significant investment in its fleet, giving it one of the biggest buses in the area.

The company has welcomed a 102-seater bus, its biggest vehicle to date. It means Worthing Coaches will be able to take on even bigger jobs and reduce the number of vehicles on the road by transporting more people at a time.

Worthing 102 seaterThe investment has already helped Worthing Coaches secure a new contract to transport pupils to and from Steyning Grammar School on behalf of West Sussex County Council.

Jo Burroughs, School Business Manager at Steyning Grammar School, said: “As a school we work hard to reduce our impact on the environment and using this larger bus is another example of how we’re doing that. Providing pupils with a reliable and safe bus service gives parents an alternative to driving their children in and helps to reduce the number of cars on the road. The fact we now have the 102-seater means we use less coaches than we did previously, minimising our impact even further.”

Paul Barringer, sales and marketing director at Worthing Coaches, added: “We’re thrilled to have been selected by West Sussex County Council to provide this important service. We’re constantly investing in our fleet and we’re pleased that our new addition is helping pupils get to and from school every day.”

The Worthing Coaches 102-seater bus will be available for other schools and organisations to hire throughout the rest of the day when it is not running the Steyning Grammar School services. Paul Barringer added: “As this will be off-peak times of the day we’ll be able to offer very competitive rates for excursions such as school trips.”
