New logo using luminescent vinyls

Grey's of Ely, the Witchford based coach hire company has introduced a new version of their time-honoured logo, which is now made using luminescent vinyls.

Grey's Managing Director, Richard Grey takes up the story " we have had our unique logo for over 67 years and in that time the style has been unchanged, with the exception of a colour change in 2007. The original logos were hand painted on; with the inception of vinyl's we moved to a 3-layer process to create our unique font. Over time we have found that the layers can wear, so have been looking for a solution."

Grey's worked with vinyl and vehicle wrapping supplier Ambient Graphics, based at Haddenham, Cambridgeshire, who are a 3M approved supplier, to develop something a little unique. The logos grey and black elements are digitally printed onto reflective hardwearing vinyl and then the distinctive logo is then cut out of a single sheet with no layering. Because reflective property is so strong it even comes through the two printed layers at night.

With the large Grey's of Ely logos covering both sides and rear, they now not only promote the business, but also add an additional safety level to the coaches in low light situations.

Richard said, "this new solution nicely lifts the branding off the vehicle in day light and then really comes to life at night when surrounding lights illuminate them. We have already fitted them to half the fleet and will look to roll them out across the rest of the coaches in the next few months."
