13/12/2018 - Coach firm sees spike in bookings as holidaymakers seek to escape January blues

Lucketts Travel summer getaways prove popular

Christmas may be approaching but people in Hampshire are already dreaming of summer, according to a local coach firm.

Lucketts Travel has seen a huge spike in bookings for its summer getaways, with sales doubling on the day of its holiday launch last week, compared to the same day last year.

The company says a fear of the January blues – coupled with ‘Brexit overload’ – could be part of the reason behind the surge.

Group sales and marketing director Paul Barringer said: “People are becoming more and more organised when it comes to booking their holidays. They know the January blues will hit after the fun of Christmas is over and they’re taking pre-emptive action to book their summer holidays now before that kicks in.

“We wonder if recent political events dominating the news also mean people are looking for an escape.”

Lucketts’ latest summer holiday brochure is now available, featuring many new destinations for 2019 both in the UK and Europe. It was put together by Lucketts Nadine DawsonNadine Dawson, who was appointed by the coach company earlier this year to take its holiday offering to the next level.

Tony Lawman, managing director of Lucketts, said: “Nadine is hugely experienced and her ability to create an exciting holiday programme has been proven with the phenomenal response to our latest brochure.”

Lucketts safely transports around tens of thousands of daytrippers and holidaymakers every year. Uniquely in the Portsmouth and Southampton areas, all of Lucketts holidays include door-to-door pick up. To find out more and download the summer brochure visit www.lucketts.co.uk
