15/05/2018 - Coach firm cleans up at national awards

Winners of four trophies at the UK Coach Awards

Lucketts Group has cemented its reputation as one of the best in the country by winning a veritable haul of national coach awards.

The Hampshire-based firm walked away from the prestigious UK Coach Awards last week with an impressive four awards – more than any other operator in the country.

Lucketts was applauded for both its domestic and European coach travel programmes – picking up gold in both categories against stiff competition. The firm was also the silver award winner for ‘Top Large Fleet Operator’, impressing judges with its high levels of compliance, innovative use of technology and stellar growth. Ian Luckett, one of the owners, was singled out for praise at the awards as he was recognised with an award for Services to the Coach Industry.

Managing director Tony Lawman said the wins were testament to the hard work put in by all staff to give customers the very best service. “The outstanding feedback we receive day in, day out from our passengers is reward enough but to have this additional recognition from our industry peers really tops it off,” he said. “We’ve put a great deal of hard work into making our UK and European holiday programmes the very best on the market so we’re particularly pleased to win awards for those.”

Lucketts safely transports around 45,000 holiday makers every year to destinations across the UK and Europe. It has around 250 holidays to choose from, all of which include pick up and drop off direct from passengers’ front doors.

The company now counts Lucketts Travel, Coliseum Coaches, Worthing Coaches, Solent Coaches and Mortons Travel among its brands and is in the midst of an ambitious period of growth.

Ian Luckett, who was awarded the Services to the Coach Industry Award, said: “Lucketts may be 92 years old but we’re constantly innovating and we’re pleased to see that recognised with these awards. Personally, I feel both honoured and flattered to have been given the services to the coach industry award. It’s an industry I’ve very much enjoyed contributing to and moving forwards over the years.”
