Bakers Dolphin wins a Retailer Award by the Broadmead BID Project
The Bakers Dolphin travel shop in The Arcade, Broadmead, Bristol has won a Retailer Award by the Broadmead BID Project.
The shop, which specialises in UK coach tours, international air and cruise holidays and London theatre trips, came out on top in the Service/Leisure Provider category following a mystery shopping exercise.
The winners were announced at a special ceremony on Tuesday 24 April at The New Room in Broadmead and the Lord Mayor presented awards to category winners.
This is the third Retailer Awards organised by Broadmead BID and over 100 shops in the area participated in a mystery shopping programme, with those that performed the best shortlisted.
Bakers Dolphin Sales and Marketing Director, Amanda Harrington, said: “We are delighted to have won this wonderful award for the service provided at our Bristol shop.
“For our customers having a place to go and talk to an experienced travel adviser face-to-face about their unique needs is still very important. It gives some customers peace of mind to browse and talk through their options and we also run regular shop-exclusive discounts.
“The team we have there – Tina, Jo, Fiona and Nicki – are all highly experienced advisors and each have their own specialist areas, from cruises to city breaks and because we are independent we can offer a wider range than most travel agents.
“We’re committed to the regeneration of Broadmead and these awards highlight just some of the top businesses operating in the area.”
Bakers Dolphin, which has headquarters in Weston-super-Mare and operates across the South West region, has recently won prestigious industry awards too. The firm scooped two gongs at the British Coach Tourism Awards for Large Coach Tour Operator and Coach Driver of the Year for long-serving driver Michael Blowers.
Bakers Dolphin are also currently shortlisted for the Coach Marketing Award at the upcoming Coach UK Awards in May.
