Founded in Leicester in 1950, Woods Coaches offers corporate and private hire services, but the business is largely focused on
the holiday and day trip market – for which it has established an excellent reputation. Since April 2014, Woods coaches was acquired
by Stewarts Coach Group, a fellow Guild member and recently Woods received a £1.5 million investment in new vehicles.
Bill Tanser was appointed General Manager of Woods Coaches in August 2014, having originally joined the business as a coach driver
at the age of 21. He worked his way up through the organisation over the years, most recently holding the position of Transport Manager
for more than ten years. Bill is very well known and respected within the coach industry and his skills were recognised in the Operator
Excellence Awards of 2007, when he picked up the “Coach Manager of the Year” award.
