18/07/2019 - Coach firm takes children for walk on the wild side
Bakers Dolphin working with the Rotary Club of Weston-super-Mare
Deserving youngsters from four Weston-super-Mare primary schools travelled in comfort in order to enjoy a walk on the wild side, thanks to a helping hand from Bakers Dolphin.
Their adventure began when they boarded a tour coach which took them to Morrisons, where they enjoyed a complimentary breakfast, before being driven to the UK's number one safari park, Longleat.
The trip was organised by the Rotary Club of Weston-super-Mare. Member Clive Morris said: "We drove through the safari park for a close encounter with the animals.
“The coach was nothing like an average school bus. The facilities on board were excellent, which really helped make the day a success.
“After the safari we went on a boat trip around the lake, fed sea lions and saw the hippos.
“Bakers Dolphin have always provided an excellent service to us and this year was no exception. Our driver, Isabel Thornton, was excellent - she was very helpful and the children loved her.”
Every year Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland join up with Kids Out to take 25,000 special children on day trips to various brilliant locations in the UK.
Clive added: "For over 10 years we have been taking kids to Longleat. We only take children who the teachers think deserve a day out for one reason or another."
A total of 32 children, aged between five and 11, plus eight teachers from four different Weston schools, went on the trip, together with several Rotary helpers who guided and assisted the teachers.
