17/06/2013 - Block To The Future – Lucketts Paves Way To Success

Investing for the future

The Lucketts Travel Group, the South Coast's leading coach travel company, is about to give a crucial part of its business a new look - the coach park at its Fareham HQ.

A large area of tarmac is about to be replaced. The Lucketts Travel Group, a family firm known for careful investment choices, has opted for a long term approach on the replacement surface. Block paving stone will be laid on the 1,000 square meters of coach parking space.

The decision to lay a more expensive natural stone hasn't just been made for cosmetic reasons. Whilst the block paving will look considerably better than tarmac, it will also be significantly more durable, resilient and easy to clean. It has the added benefit of being easy to replace, with small sections seamlessly repaired without a patchwork effect.

Hampshire based contractor GM Construction, under the supervision of owner Graham Moyse, will undertake the work. It's estimated that the entire area will be resurfaced in around three weeks at a cost of around £70,000.

Steve Luckett, Director of The Lucketts Travel Group, said " It might sound like a lot of money for a coach park surface, but we really are investing in the long term future of our company. As a family firm we've been around for the last 80 years, and plan on being at our Fareham HQ for decades to come. The new block paving has a long lifetime, and is the perfect surface on which to park millions of pounds of modern luxury coaches."

The Lucketts Travel Group has recently been awarded the title of the UK's  Large Coach Operator of the year. It has a fleet of more than 100 modern luxury coaches, all of which meet or exceed the latest environmental standards. The company also owns Worthing Coaches and Southampton based Coliseum Coaches. As well as a wide range of coach holidays, school and corporate travel, Lucketts also operates five key routes on behalf of National Express.
