12/03/2018 - Galloway wins gold!
Achieved National Express’ top award for engineering standards
East Anglia’s Galloway Coach Travel has won National Express’ top award for engineering standards.
Engineering staff at Galloway Travel were presented with a golden spanner, an award for partner operators who achieve exceptional engineering standards, by National Express Commercial Director John Boughton.
The award is in recognition of the high standards of fleet maintenance achieved over the past twelve months by Galloway’s Interim Workshop Manager, Gary Walkden and his team.
Richard Smith, General Manager responsible for Operations at Galloway stated “This is a very proud moment for me and the team. Meeting National Express’ benchmark for quality is a real achievement and I’m delighted the workshop have been recognised in this way. They’re a credit to the company and have worked incredibly hard to achieve this goal.”
Galloway have been managing two National Express routes for over 25 years and currently run two routes on their behalf – the 481 between Ipswich and London and the 250 between Ipswich and Stansted and Heathrow airports. This is Galloway’s first time winning the award.
John Boughton added, “It was a pleasure to visit Galloway and we are delighted to award them with the Golden Spanner award for their excellent performance during our engineering audit. Safety is the company’s number one priority and we rely on operators such as Galloway to uphold the highest standards. Their staff can be rightly proud of this achievement.”
