Prism attends awards ceremony in London without leaving the office
A recent contract for Bakers Coaches of Biddulph involved executive travel for employees of Prism, an IT Solutions company based in Cheshire. Key members of Prism staff attended a celebration evening at the Royal Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London to pick up their British Chamber Award for Excellence in Customer Service.
When outlining travel plans for the evening, Prism’s challenge was to ensure that staff members could work whilst travelling to the awards, so that customer service levels did not suffer whilst they were away from the office.
Initially, Prism looked into overnight accommodation in London for the staff and guests who were invited to the celebration evening. David Collins-Lafferty, Business Development Manager for Prism, commented “It was the cost in time away from the office as much as the financial expense that was worrying us.”
David then remembered a recent meeting with Phil Baker of Bakers Coaches at a North Staffordshire Chamber networking event. A phone call to Phil Baker and subsequent meeting at Bakers Coaches travel centre in Biddulph led to the commissioning of an executive coach to transport the Prism team down to London, enabling them to work whilst travelling.
“The Bakers executive coach was equipped with luxury reclining seats, DVD, radio and full CD sound systems, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities and washroom facilities. This enabled our team to arrive refreshed, relaxed and stress-free to enjoy the awards celebrations”, said Collins-Lafferty.
Phil Baker, Managing Director of Bakers Coaches added “We are very pleased to have provided the transport for Prism to attend the British Chamber Awards. Our executive coaches are an affordable way of travelling in style, whilst allowing staff to continue with their work”.
Commenting on the service provided by Bakers, David Collins-Lafferty said “Phil’s offer to provide the executive coach was the ideal solution to our travel requirements. We were all able to work in comfort whilst travelling down to London, and celebrate in style on the journey home! Everyone had a fantastic night and staff came into work refreshed the following day.”
“The icing on the cake was the fact that it proved more cost effective to hire the executive coach than to pay train fares and accommodation costs.”
