Woods concentrates on coaching
Centrebus Limited has agreed terms with Woods Coaches to purchase its bus division that operates 13 local bus routes in and around Leicestershire. The sale took place with effect from 00:01 on 26th August 2008.
The sale Involved 33 midi-buses and 43 Woods staff being transferred over to Centrebus.
Wigston based Woods Coaches have confirmed that the coaching arm of the business which involves coach holidays, day excursions and private coach hire remains unaffected and continues to run.
Kevin Brown, Managing Director for Woods Coaches said, “It was a reluctant sale but due to the high costs diesel coupled with the local authority being unable to grant a fuel subsidy, it was necessary. We will now be concentrating upon our core coach products as this area of the business has seen considerable growth over the last few years and continues to go from strength to strength.”
