Weston-super-Mare based coach travel company Bakers Dolphin had a very special customer this weekend - the world’s first test-tube baby, Louise Brown and her family.
Louise hired a minibus to take the family to Cambridge where they attended a special tree planting ceremony, in memory of her mum and dad Lesley and John Brown, who made medical history when Louise was born in 1978.
Louise and her sister Natalie visited the Bourn Hall Clinic which was established as the world's first IVF clinic shortly after Louise's birth, by IVF pioneers Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards. There they planted a tree and celebrated the life of their parents in front of the world's media.
Bakers Dolphin Sales and Marketing Director Amanda Harrington said: "This was a huge trip for Louise and her family, to mark the lives of their incredible parents and celebrate the developments in IVF in the last 30 years.
"We wanted to make the journey as comfortable and stress-free for the family as possible so they could concentrate on enjoying the event. With six children between them, they needed a minibus big enough to transport everyone.
"Of course we treat all our customers like VIPs but Louise is extra special!"
