The Kings Ferry Launches The ‘Land Yacht’ – A New Concept In Luxury Travel

The award-winning Kings Ferry Travel Group has launched the UK’s first-ever Land Yachts, a unique fleet of VIP vehicles providing the ultimate in luxury transportation.

The Land Yachts, which will be showcased during the International Confex 2007 exhibition at London’s Earls Court in February, take luxury travel to the next level, and are already proving a hit with celebrities, top executives and even government ministers.

Within days of introducing the Land Yachts to the UK market, The Kings Ferry had taken bookings from several high-profile clients, including Radio 1 DJ Sara Cox and Novus Leisure, operators of the nationwide Tiger Tiger bar and club chain.

The Kings Ferry’s managing director, Steve O’Neill, said: “The Land Yachts are a totally new concept in luxury travel. As well as offering the kind of luxury and comfort you’d expect from a VIP vehicle, they are also spacious and extremely versatile – ideal for customers looking to create the right impression with their clients.”

Uniquely, the Land Yachts are licensed to accommodate either 12 or 19 people and come with ‘side seating’, making them perfect for client meetings, corporate hospitality, conferences, mobile exhibitions, staff training and incentive programmes.

Novus Leisure spokesman Hilary Culkin said the Land Yachts proved invaluable when it came to motivating the company’s senior managers during a recent event: “We were looking to launch a change to our ‘product and concept’ offer throughout our national chain of 36 venues and needed to excite and motivate our team to deliver these changes successfully.

“The Land Yacht was the only vehicle which suited our requirements and it provided a unique and memorable environment in which to get key messages across to our staff.

“The side-seating layout is perfect for group interaction and, because it’s also so technologically advanced, we were able to deliver a high-impact event which combined engagement and training with competitor visits and field-based exercises. The latest addition to Kent-based Kings Ferry’s extensive VIP fleet, the Land Yachts offer
state-of-the-art audio and visual equipment, luxury leather seats, wood-effect floors and champagne and drinks bar.

Features vary depending on which vehicle clients select but can include plasma TV with PC compatibility for on-board presentations, microphone, DVD and CD audio systems, tinted windows, blinds, mood lighting and computerised touch-screen controls. The Land Yachts even come with a PlayStation 2 and karaoke machine, giving stressed-out executives the chance to relax and unwind.
