Success at Brighton Coach Rally for Galloway European
Galloway European Coachlines celebrated a major success at the 2008 British Coach Rally, held in Brighton in April. The company entered a 49 seat Setra driven by Tim Robinson with a support team of Andy Kemp, David Cattermole and Barbara Abbott and a 49 seat Vanhool driven by Tony Beckingham with a support team of Wally Cass, Aled Evans and Margaret Cattermole.
Saturday morning commenced with the demanding road trials covering over 100 kms and both teams were delighted to come home in 5th (Setra) and 6th (Van Hool) placing, accumulating only 30 and 40 penalty points respectively.
The Driver of the Year driving trials followed with both Tim and Tony demonstrating good skills covering the course with particularly good timings but such was the competition the few penalty points they accrued were enough to preclude them from the Sunday finals.
However, the Company enjoyed unequalled success in four of the vehicle categories by securing the following awards:
• Top Touring Coach (Setra S416GT-HD) • Top Setra • Best coach from a Guild of British Coach Operators Member • Highest placed Confederation of Transport Member (CPT) in all classes
A fitting accolade to every member of the Galloway team. Contact us now to enjoy our award winning coaches and service.
