Lucketts Travel turns the key on new coach investment
One of the south’s leading travel companies has made one of it biggest ever single investments in new coaches as it gears up for increased business in the holiday, excursion and private hire markets. Fareham-based Lucketts Travel has invested around £3/4 million so far this year in the very latest specification coaches to join the 50-strong fleet. Ian Luckett said the company prides itself on providing the highest levels in standards – and that means ongoing investment in new vehicles. So far this year the fleet has been joined by four brand new coaches operating in the livery of Lucketts Travel and Worthing Coaches, the company’s Sussex-based operation. “Quality is key in this market and our customers want to know that the coaches we use are the safest, most environmentally friendly and the most comfortable on the market,” said Ian. “And these latest coaches have a real wow factor with the most impressive being the Scania Irizar boasting increased leg room, climate control and three point seat belts.” The arrival of the new coaches comes at a busy time for the Hampshire-based family company. Its holiday programme is moving up a gear and its day excursion business is on the expansion trail. The company is also playing an integral part in Portsmouth’s FA Cup run with more than 100 coaches used for the semi-final and the finals at Wembley. “2008 is already proving to be a busy year for Lucketts and with the new coaches now operating we have the most up to date fleet in the region,” said Ian.
