Lucketts Travel picks up prestigious national award

Leading south coast company Lucketts Travel is celebrating a prestigious national award which recognises its performance in the coach travel industry.

The annual awards, sponsored by Coach Monthly magazine, recognise the stars in the coach tourism industry and were attended by over 300 prominent members.

The Hampshire firm stepped up its marketing efforts this year with refreshed designs and layouts of its collateral. This led to the win of the ‘Brochure of the Year 2007’ accolade at the Coach Tourism Awards, beating competition from a number of nationwide coach travel companies.

The renowned Fareham- based coach operator won the award with its distinctive and attractive 2007 brochure designs. Judges described the triumphant Lucketts Travel’s holiday brochure as “tremendously impressive… it screams quality (and) pushes all the right buttons.”

Ian Veness, product development manager at Lucketts Travel, who collected the award on the night, said: “Customer service is at the forefront of Lucketts Travel’s ethos and we updated our brochure format following feedback from customers on our 2006 layout. Each year we revise the design and this year’s enhancements have been spot on – we’re delighted this has been recognised, both by our passengers and with this award.

“Our brochures act as Lucketts Travel’s shop window. They fit in with our corporate style, and are attractive and distinctive. Each tour’s schedule is clear and concise and information such as the price and date of departure, hotel description and itinerary are very easy to find on the page.

“This year we have extended our door-to-door holiday programme and so the brochures have more pages and more detail – it is crucial for us to design a brochure that is easy to navigate, helpful and has all the information a customer could need.

“We were up against some of the biggest and best names in the industry and are proud to receive this honour,” continued Ian.

Lucketts, who collected the ‘European Holiday Programme of the Year Award’ in 2006, has backed up its award-winning brochures in 2007 with a new online facility where customers can either fill in their details and book a trip online or, if they prefer, download a booking form to complete at home and then send back to Lucketts Travel head office. It also launched its regular Spotlight newsletter to update customers on news and late availability on its tours.

The company prides itself on offering a hassle-free experience, high quality coaches and excellent accommodation for discerning customers. It ensures its first-rate standards are continually maintained to provide the best quality holidays to new and exciting destinations.

Lucketts Travel was also shortlisted in four further Coach Tourism 2007 award categories, including UK Holiday programme of the Year, European Holiday programme of the Year, Day Excursion programme of the Year and Coach Operator of the Year (over 10 vehicles).

The Coach Tourism award ceremony was held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry; the awards are held annually in association with the Coach Tourism Show to reward those who have made an outstanding contribution to the coach tourism industry.
