Lucketts scoops national award
Leading Hampshire coach company Lucketts Travel is celebrating having scooped a national accolade at this year’s Coach Tourism Awards.
The Fareham-based, family-owned, business was presented with the award for the UK Holiday Programme of the Year in recognition of its outstanding offering of UK coach holidays.
The national awards ceremony, which recognises excellence in the coach tourism trade, was attended by 350 of the industry’s finest at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Up for a total of four awards on the night, Lucketts demonstrated its position as market leader on a national scale.
Paul Barringer; Ian, sales director at Lucketts, commented: “This award is a real testament to all the hard work everyone at Lucketts has put in. Being recognised by the Coach Tourism industry is a great honour and we’re extremely proud to be awarded this title.
“At Lucketts we are constantly looking for new ways to improve our service and extend our offerings to coach travellers and this accolade shows that we are succeeding and is a great incentive for us to continue to be the best for our customers.”
Bucking the trend set by the current recession, the company is going from strength-to-strength. It has just secured a multi-million pound contract with National Express and has invested £2.5m in 12 new state-of-the-art coaches and 45 new members of staff to operate these services to the highest quality. The company, established in 1926, is expecting to see its annual turnover increase to £12m for the coming year.
