Lucketts scoops coveted national award
Fareham-based coach company Lucketts Travel is celebrating after winning the prized National Express Coach Operator of the Year. Beating off 44 of the highest performing coach companies from around the UK, Lucketts was handed the prestigious title during the glittering National Express Operators Awards ceremony. The award is particularly significant as it is based on National Express’ comprehensive evaluation system where operators are measured and awarded against extremely high set of benchmarks within the industry. Lucketts, who were awarded the contract to operate National Express’ services between Portsmouth and London just over a year ago, delivered the best overall service to National Express coming top of its Quality Evaluation table. It is also the latest in a string of accolades for the family-owned business which have included UK Holiday Programme of the Year in the 2009 Coach Tourism Awards and Business of the Year 2009 in the Business Excellence Awards. Ian Luckett, director of Lucketts Travel, said: “This latest award means a lot to our business and we are honoured to have won. The standards set are extremely high and we will continue to work with National Express to exceed their expectations.” Alex Perry, operations director for National Express, said: “Awarding high achievement within our Operator community is great recognition for everybody who works incredibly hard day in and day out to deliver a brilliant service for our customers.”
