Lucketts helps Pompey squad spread festive cheer to poorly children
Leading private coach hire provider Lucketts Travel has helped the Pompey FC squad spread some festive cheer to sick children at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
The Fareham based firm provided a complimentary coach to transport the Blues stars to and from Fratton Park to Cosham where they spent the afternoon handing out presents, signing autographs and chatting to the young patients and their parents.
Always keen to support local causes, Lucketts Travel stepped in with free coach hire for the team’s quest to play Santa and bring some happiness to the children. Manager Michael Appleton, coaches Guy Whittingham and Stuart Gray and head of club liaison Linvoy Primus also joined the players on their visit to the hospital.
Mark Storey, Pompey Head of Media, said: “It was a fantastic gesture by Lucketts Travel to lay on travel for our players and manager so that they could visit poorly children and spread festive cheer at our local hospital. It’s what Christmas is all about.”
Paul Barringer, Sales Director of Lucketts Travel, said: “It’s the season of goodwill and Lucketts Travel is delighted to have helped Portsmouth Football Club get out in the community and bring a bit of Christmas cheer. Being a local, family owned business we are always keen to support local causes and it’s nice that we were able to help them to brighten these kids’ day.”
