London January Sales Rush On Flyer
A daily coach service from the West Country to the heart of London’s stylish shopping district has had its most successful year ever and is set for more success in 2011 as bookings are strong for the January sales.
The London Flyer, operated by Bakers Dolphin reported a major increase in passengers during 2010 taking people to London and dropping them off outside Harrods and in Park Lane at the end of Oxford Street.
Bakers Dolphin marketing director Amanda Harrington explained: “We believe the increase in passengers has come from our ability to offer concessionary fares for the over 60s for the first time. We have now topped over 10,000 concessionary travellers using the service.
“On top of that there has been a surge of bookings through our online service as people find it so easy and convenient. We are already looking at strong January passenger numbers as people head for Oxford Street for the sales. Our passengers seem to be a mixture of those going to London for the shops and those wanting to see a West End show.
“Because our service drops people so close to the shops they are more convenient than other services to the capital”.
The concessionary fares mean that the over 60s can get a day return trip to London for just £11 from Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon and Gordano or just £10 from Bristol.
The London Flyer, which has been established over many years, uses a luxury 79-seater double-decker coach that is one of the most environmentally efficient on British roads
Seats on the London Flyer can be booked online at www.bakersdolphin.com , or by calling Bakers Dolphin on 01934 415000.
