11/04/2013 - Leading South Coast Coach Operator Launches Drive for Jobs

The Lucketts Travel Group creates another 25 new jobs.

The Lucketts Travel Group, the leading coach travel group in Southern England, has announced a major expansion of its workforce. The company, recently named the "UK Large Coach Operator of the Year", is looking to create another 25 new jobs, which will increase the number of staff it employs by 10%.

Despite current economic conditions Lucketts Travel Group has continued to grow its business, recently winning a number of contracts with National Express to operate important routes. The family run firm has also made a number of key acquisitions in recent years, bringing Worthing Coaches and Coliseum Coaches under the Lucketts Travel Group ownership.

As a significant local employer the Lucketts Travel Group currently has 275 people working for it, the majority driving a fleet of more than 100 luxury modern coaches. In its latest recruitment drive the company is looking for more drivers to join its highly trained team. New staff will be taken through an intensive course at Lucketts Driver Training Academy. Drivers will attain the relevant licenses and certification. They will also learn the latest safe driving techniques and skills that increase customer comfort whilst also cutting emissions.

Steve Luckett, Managing Director, Lucketts Travel Group, said, "We're constantly reading in the newspapers how hard it is for people to find decent jobs. Here we are offering 25 people the chance to learn valuable new skills, and build a career with a company that cares about them and their development. With more than eight out of ten people who've been through our Driver Training Academy staying with Lucketts for years afterwards we know its a good place to work. I'm excited that even more people now have the chance to join our team of highly motivated drivers, offering our customers the best possible service."

The Lucketts Driver Training Academy is unique in Southern England. New coach drivers must, of course, hold a current driving license but don't have to have any previous experience of driving large passenger carrying vehicles. The Lucketts Travel Group offers highly competitive rates of pay.  The most important attribute the company looks for in new recruits is a desire to provide the highest levels of customer service.
