Johnsons Expands Executive Fleet

Strong demand in the business hire and holiday sector had led the Warwickshire-based bus and coach company, Johnsons, to expand its fleet of executive coaches.

Continual business development has already positioned Johnsons as one of the independent leading operators in the West Midlands and one of the largest employers in South Warwickshire. The move follows Johnsons gaining the industry’s ‘Coach Marque’ award and Guild of British Coach Operator membership in February 2004.

Four new luxury coaches have been added to the fleet – bringing the Johnsons coach fleet to a total of 40 high specification vehicles. The new vehicles are part of the company’s policy of annual replacement which ensures that the average age of the fleet is no more than 6 years.

Two of the new coaches have an overall capacity of 49 seats. However, like a number of Johnsons coaches, two of the vehicles are built to Johnsons Club Class specification, which have 5 seats removed to create even more legroom and comfort for passengers. All feature the full range of facilities including washrooms, refreshment facilities, and PA systems, double glazing and air conditioning.

In addition to a thriving programme of excursions and holidays, Johnsons operates a very successful private hire service, as well as a division which specialises in “tailor made” holidays for groups and clubs. The company reports that demand for corporate travel such as airport and conference transfers, is particularly strong.
