21/12/2016 - Festive Lunch For The Homeless Thanks To Local Organisations

The Star in Tickenham, Bakers Dolphin coaches and Streetlife Café came together to organise the event

Three local businesses in Bristol have teamed up to ensure a group of homeless people have a festive Christmas lunch to remember.

The Star Inn in Tickenham, community venture Street Life Café and coach company Bakers Dolphin organised the special lunch for 45 homeless people with food and venue provided by Dougie Bonar, landlord of The Star Inn and transport from the city centre to the pub provided by Bakers Dolphin.

Bakers Dolphin Sales & Marketing Director, Amanda Harrington, said: “It was wonderful to be able to provide the transport for this lovely event.

“Christmas is a difficult time for those less fortunate so a three-course festive lunch with all the trimmings was a really nice treat and offered some festive fun the guests wouldn’t usually be able to enjoy.

“Some of the people there hadn’t had a Christmas lunch for up to eight years so it was a really heartwarming moment.

“It’s very easy to take everything we have for granted, especially at Christmas when it’s all about excess, so it’s great to give something back.”
