European trip for local firm as business booms
Fareham coach tour operator Lucketts Travel has just returned from a scouting mission to Austria where it is looking to expand its business.
Ian Veness, sales and marketing manager of Lucketts Travel, says he wants to increase the firm’s tours to Austria on the back of one of its busiest year’s and a £1 million investment in new state-of-the-art coaches.
Ian said: “Austria is becoming one of our most popular destinations and it is not difficult to see why with its breathtaking scenery characterised by vast shimmering lakes, dramatic mountains and clean air.”
Ian visited the Tyrol accompanied by Derek Martin from Eurotours, Lucketts’ Austrian agent, and visited the Schloss-Hotel Rosenegg in Fieberbrunn, which Lucketts will be using for the “Schloss in Concert” tour in their 2005 holiday programme.
Ian explained: “The trip to Austria allowed us to personally check the accommodation we are going to use meets our exacting standards and gave me the opportunity to look first-hand at some stunning hotels with breathtaking views, and to develop new themes and destinations.”
Lucketts, established nearly 80 years ago, has sold out of many tours up to the end of this year and is looking to add more hotels to its portfolio and increase choices for customers.
“Demand for holidays has been phenomenal, and our Christmas tour to the Hotel Ferienclub Bellevue am See in Walchsee sold out within a month of the Festive Breaks brochure being sent out! We’ve never seen that before!” Ian added.
