David Luckett MBE of Fareham based Lucketts Travel, has received a Lifetime Achievement award for his services to the local business community.
At a packed ceremony at the Guildhall in Portsmouth, the Lucketts Travel chairman was presented the accolade at The News Business Excellence Awards 2012 by local personality and Meridian TV presenter Fred Dinenage, who compered the evening.
David had been asked to present the Innovation of the Year Award, which Lucketts Travel won last year, and had no idea he was there to pick up a special award.
David’s 53 years in commerce has built one of the South’s business success stories through high standards, determination and a genuine passion for the training and development of his workforce.
He has been the driving force and visionary behind the company and his devoted leadership and innovative vision ensured it was one of the few businesses that saw significant growth during difficult economic times, delivering the success levels that Lucketts Travel enjoys today.
David Luckett MBE said: "This award recognises not only the dedication I have to Lucketts Travel, but also the commitment Lucketts has always made to its staff and customers and I am honoured to have received it."
