Daily Telegraph recognises Lucketts Travel as one of the best of British

Hampshire based coach hire and travel company Lucketts Travel, has been ranked among the Daily Telegraph’s celebration list of Britain’s top 1000 brightest businesses.

Lucketts Travel is delighted to be one of the 18 Hampshire based companies named in a rare celebration of the best mid-sized companies that have weathered the economic storms and are contributing to the foundation of the UK’s recovery:

Lucketts Travel is one of Fareham’s success stories and has been a driving force within the Hampshire business community since 1926. The family owned business places great emphasis on the quality of its service and is regularly recognised as a leading example in the travel and regional business sectors.

In 2010, Lucketts Travel celebrated the official opening of its new headquarters and work shop in Broadcut, Fareham. The event marked the culmination of five years of phenomenal growth, even during a time of recession. The new headquarters now provide state of the art office space for 173 staff and maintenance facilities for the 70 plus fleet.

A third generation of the Luckett family is now at the operational helm of a thriving passenger transport company, with David Luckett MBE as its Chairman.

A total of 45 jobs were created in 2010, representing a significant investment in the workforce and turnover between 2009/10 exceeded targets to reach £14 million.

In 2006, the company acquired businesses in Worthing and Eastbourne and the Lucketts fleet now ranks among the largest on the south coast. A full spectrum of contract and individual leisure, business and educational transport solutions operate from the company’s Fareham headquarters, together with bespoke private hire packages and an extensive travel programme centred on domestic and European coach holidays.
