Southampton's leading coach travel company has been awarded the CoachMarque by the Confederation of Passenger Transport, in recognition of it delivering the highest standards of safety and customer care.
Coliseum Coaches is now rated as among the ‘best of the best' of UK operators. The CoachMarque is a guarantee that customers choosing to travel with Coliseum Coaches will experience a first class service. CoachMarque is the only universally recognised kite mark of quality in the UK coach industry. Coliseum Coaches received the award after undergoing an audit carried out by a third party, which measures the company on its standards of safety, systems of work and promoting good quality travel.
All potential members of the CoachMarque scheme have to subject themselves to rigorous testing before they are accepted and given the accreditation. The organisation promotes the benefits of high quality coach travel, with independent auditing guaranteeing that its 47 member operators will always deliver the best travel experience.
Mark Pitter, General Manager of Coliseum Coaches, has been with the company since leaving university at the age of 22. His family started the business more than eighty years ago. Mark was presented with the CoachMarque certificate by Alf Scrimgour of Confederation of Passenger Transport and said "I was confident that the audit team wouldn't find anything to worry them, but it was still great to hear we had passed with flying colours! Coliseum Coaches has always prided itself on delivering the highest levels of safety and customer service, and recognition of that by the Confederation of Passenger Transport is testament to the hard work of our dedicated staff".
In addition, 2013 saw Coliseum Coaches become an accredited member of The Guild of British Coach Operators. The Guild of British Coach Operators was formed to promote first class travel across the UK and requires each member to undergo a full audit, measuring 44 crucial elements of the business. Sending in an independent external inspection team, the Guild audited Coliseum Coaches on items including customer service, investment in its employees, standards of its fleet and community and regulatory issues. In all areas Coliseum Coaches was required to reach top marks and didn't disappoint, delivering results of 100%.
Now that Coliseum Coaches is officially part of the Guild of British Coach Operators it can rely on the help and support of other member companies, offering 24 hour a day back up to each other right across the country.
Coliseum Coaches has a fleet of 11 modern luxury coaches, and is the company chosen by Southampton Football Club to get its supporters to Premier League matches all over the country. The firm became part of Lucketts Travel Group in 2012, the South Coast's leading coach travel operator.
