Bakers Coaches muster for 2010 Poppy Day Appeal
“Wear your poppy with pride,” say the staff and drivers of Baker Coaches. For the Biddulph company is a staunch supporter of the British Legion charity and has always had a collection point at the Coach Travel Centre for staff and customers.
In addition to the staff, the bus and coach fleet will also be sporting ‘Poppy’ graphics to help increase awareness of the appeal and the debt we owe to all the servicemen who have made such great sacrifices for our nation.
Last year the company investigated using the large plastic poppies, often seen on lorries, however it was difficult to keep these looking clean and they were not really compatible with the powerful vehicle washing machines used by Bakers.
So this year graphic stickers have been introduced for use on commercial vehicles in return for a donation to the Royal British Legion.
As well as the annual RBL appeal, Bakers Coaches has also pledged free travel to all members of the British armed forces on its local bus service operations.
“This offer is just a small token of thanks and appreciation for all that they do on our behalf,” said managing director, Phil Baker.
