Bakers Coaches in Great Brownie Takeover

Bakers Coaches of Biddulph has provided transportation for over 650 Staffordshire Brownies who attended an event in North Wales arranged as part of Girlguiding UK’s centenary celebrations.

Cost effective and efficient transportation was important to ensure the event ran smoothly. Commenting on the planning, Julie Tanner of Girlguiding Staffordshire said “We wanted a high standard of vehicle, with a focus on safety, and drivers who would contribute to, and take part in, the spirit of the adventure weekend.

“We were very impressed with Bakers’ commitment and attention to detail in every aspect of the planning.”

“Within two days of issuing our request for quotation, Phil Baker contacted me personally and offered to take on the logistics of the travel arrangements on my behalf. Phil also came along to one of our early planning meetings and gave a very professional account of how Bakers could deliver our requirements. Also, two weeks before our event, representatives from Bakers offered to meet with me to assess the finer details of the trip and to ensure that both parties were clear on the arrangements.”

The ‘Great Brownie Takeover Weekend’ was held at the Haven Holiday Park in Hafan Y Mor, Pwllheli. The event had a pirate adventure theme and fun and games were enjoyed by all throughout the weekend. Although there were dreadful weather conditions on the journey, this did not dampen the spirits of those travelling. Even the coach drivers joined in the spirit by wearing fancy dress hats and singing along to pirate sea-shanties.
