Bakers Coaches acquires Middlewich firm
Bakers Coaches of Biddulph has signed an agreement to take over the business operations of Niddries Coaches, a family travel firm based in Middlewich, Cheshire from 1st November 2007. This had intended to take place in Spring 2008 but due to the recent fire at the Niddries premises, this has been brought forward.
The companies have worked closely together for some 40 years and this agreement formalises the relationship, allowing the proprietor, Mr Ian Niddrie, to reduce his business commitments and enjoy the benefits of retirement. Fiona will continue to look after Niddries’ customers from the office (unaffected by the fire) in Lewin Street. For Niddries’ customers it will also provide additional resources for delivering a full range of contract hire and holiday travel solutions.
Existing staff at Niddries will be retained by Bakers Coaches and the vehicles will operate from the Coach Travel Centre in Biddulph. Client booking arrangements and telephone contact numbers have been unified to ensure enquiries are dealt with efficiently.
The development will see the introduction of a much wider selection of Holidays and Excursions available from the South and Mid Cheshire area. Bakers fleet includes executive coaches with capacity for up to 55 people, one of which is fully equipped to accommodate disabled passengers.
