Bakerbus rewards frequent travellers
Travelling by bus is a great way to get around this summer – it removes the hassle of driving and parking a car, and is also better for the environment. To highlight the benefits of bus travel and to reward regular passengers, bakerbus have launched a “Bus Miles” loyalty scheme that offers money off the company’s popular coach awaydays and holidays.
Each ticket purchased represents a number of miles, depending on the type of journey undertaken. These are collected on a special leaflet and when ‘50 miles’ are reached travellers can redeem them for a discount on the Baker’s coach trip of their choice.
One way to earn those bus miles and see the best North Staffordshire and South Cheshire has to offer is to take a look at the company’s “Baker’s Dozen” list of top events and attractions in the area this summer. All are easily accessible with the bakerbus network.
Amongst the thirteen selections are two brilliant summer festivals in the Stoke on Trent region – the Piccadilly Festival in Hanley on 4th July and the Tunstall Carnival on 26th July. Both of these events look set to be great family fun, with Tunstall featuring roundabout terrier racing, wacky tumblairs and even duck herding! As well as family events during the day, the Piccadilly Festival features some of the area’s top young bands in the evening.
Those looking for the best in local produce will no doubt be interested in the farmer’s markets held in Stone and Stafford every month, whilst bargain hunters will love the Leek Collectors’ Outdoor Market held every Saturday in Market Square.
Other suggestions include the range of events and exhibitions throughout the summer at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, the Textiles Trades Exhibition being held in Poynton until 31st July, and a Scarecrow Trail at Biddulph Grange Gardens.
