'Coach of the Year' accolade for Tellings-Golden Miller group
Tellings-Golden Miller group celebrated a double success at today's 2005 British Coach Rally, winning the prestigious "Coach of the Year" trophy, whilst group company Burtons Coaches won the Plaxton trophy.
The winning coach, part of the Twickenham, London based fleet of TGM Coaches, is a 14m long Volvo B12B with Van Hool body equipped to full executive standards. The extra length compared to normal coaches enables the coach to be luxuriously appointed for corporate work, with 36 leather seats set round tables and a fully fitted galley.
As well as the Coach of the Year accolade, the TGM coach won the Van Hool Trophy, Moseley Trophy, LTCOA Challenge Trophy and the Leisurewear Direct trophy - a truly impressive performance!
The coach will be used extensively on corporate hospitality, football and rugby team work - indeed, the first duty for the brand new coach is for the London Harlequins rugby team.
Meanwhile, sister company Burtons Coaches of Haverhill (near to Stansted Airport and Cambridge) won the Plaxton trophy for another Volvo B12B with a Plaxton Panther body. Burtons were also awarded the Clarks trophy for the best disabled access coach in the show. Judges praised the easy entrance, flat floor, wide gangway and handrail positioning.
