Formed in 1985, the Guild of British Coach Operators represents over 20 of the UK's top coach companies. Membership is only open to coach operators who can demonstrate the highest standards in their operations, so that by hiring from any Guild Member, customers are choosing a Quality Assured, customer focused supplier.

The Guild welcomes applications from established coach companies - generally those who have been in business for at least 5 years - who believe they can meet the Guild's exacting quality standards. Our objectives are:

• To set and maintain a high standard of service to the Guild’s Code of Minimum Standards
• To work together to enhance the status of Members
• To increase the opportunities for development of business by Members
• To raise standards of competence of all levels of staff through training and discussion
• To seek for improved facilities in coach operation
• To increase public recognition of the role that coaches play in tourism and public transport
• To establish working relationships with other organisations and bodies involved in transport and tourism
• To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information which relate to the activities of the Members.
